Horn of Africa Institute is dedicated to amplifying the voices of indigenous women, girls and special interest groups empowering them to exercise their human rights through various strategies that provide safe spaces and platforms.
The organization employs evidence-based data-driven and artivism advocacy, in promoting; formulation/reviewing policies that are women friendly and address gender inequalities.
HAI supports women with access to training in financial literacy and business skills to optimize on their profits and enhancing their economic opportunities using our developed manual; Women Economic empowerment Program (WEEP).
HAI provides age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health education through our Pamoja Girls SRHR Handbook, empowering adolescents and youth to make their own decisions about their bodies by challenging community norms related to gender, adolescent sexuality, early marriage, and childbearing.
The organization established a localized referral committee in each ward comprised of GBV actors-men and women who hold power and authority in the community as gate-keepers and custodians of culture to act as referral systems in prevention, response and reporting GBVs and abuse in the community.
